Obama's declaration that he'll ignore Congress and govern by executive order is not surprising, but it should incite every American to reject him and vote him out. BUT IT WON'T! His announcement that he will campaign full time confirms what I wrote in a blog some time ago. THE US TREASURY WILL BE HIS CAMPAIGN PIGGY BANK -- additive to the $1B+ that will be reported.

This is nothing more or less than Obama's Imperialistic Presidency being made public. His acolytes and sycophants in the media have been setting us up for this for at least the last year.

Obama's conference with a host of his media shills, press, pundits and TV media anchors, a few weeks ago was to set up talking points for his "strategy" of governing without Congress. The mantra of Republicans being the party of ''NO" and the constant chant of their being "no compromise" was/is also part of the "strategy."  Compromise is only expected from the Republicans. Where is Obama's.

THIS SHOULD BE VIEWED AS OBAMA'S COMING OUT IN THE OPEN WITH HIS INTENTION TO BE A DICTATOR. I do not like to think this way, but I dislike ignorance even more. To ignore his imperialistic approach to governing is to be abjectly foolish and/or just plainly ignorant.
Unfortunately, a large enough percentage of the electorate is so ignorant as to buy into his plans and an even larger percentage doesn't care so long as he has the "D" behind his name. The "D" surely does not represent the honorable Democrat that most of my forebearers called themselves.

Reelection of Obama in 2012 will sound the death knell to "traditional America." Her soul will be stripped out. Yes, I've written this before........ and will do so again. Maybe one or two will take heed. Maybe.

I just heard Mitt Romney use the same words yesterday. About time the Republicans started to inform the nation of the hazards of continuing the Obama regime. Until now they are part of the problem in that they are destroying the chance to remove Obama by destroying each other. Obama loves their self-destruction.

Now, get ready for the ugliest, dirtiest, most dishonest, most corrupt presidential election campaign in history. If the media promoted Obama in 2008, and any person of integrity knows they did, they will double down on him in 2012. It has been on-going, but accelerated with the Obama-media acolyte conference recently.

Those who still insist there is no left bias in the media and print press or no favoritism on the part of Obama, the first item in this link might make you think a bit. Note an error-- Chris Matthews is called Chris Hayes in the article. Even if one is biased to the left and gets news from MSNBC, it's difficult to think anyone would tolerate the 3 MSNBC anchors in Obama's party. Ed Schultz defines dumbest.

Oh, but I remember a neighbor asking me at election headquarters, "Don't you think Rachel Maddow is brilliant (that word again!!)? Of course, I said  "NO." I said, "she talks so fast to cover up saying
Didn't make him happy. So, he asked, "Don't you think we're fortunate to have Ben Bernanke at The Fed?"

"NO." But "he's 'brilliant'" he said. I gave him a few reasons why Bernanke neither showed brilliance nor any evidence that QE1, QE2....or QE? ? did any good for the economy. That's when I learned the secret to his vast understanding of The Fed action and Bernanke. He said, "I'll believe my daughter-in-law," she has a recent PhD from Harvard..... pause....... and speaks fluent Japanese." "She lived in Japan for xx years." Turns out she's native Japanese. No way could I compete with those credentials (or the logic) and I acknowledged same.

I said, "Jack, I wasn't pleased with Greenspan either and got criticism from my bankers when I said so. He said, "Oh, but Greenspan is a Republican." Of course I reminded him that The Fed is supposed to be apolitical.... but isn't. He decided he'd talk with his son who works for Fannie Mae to get real information on THE issue I was about to address.

There's no way to have a normal debate as we once had with traditional Liberals and Conservatives. The 60's radicals control the discourse now. But, I now understand a bit more about brilliance.....don't count on an IQ of 170-180 or wisdom or  or ???. Go to Harvard where everyone graduates with some degree of A....or speaking Japanese helps.

Truly disgusting video of Obama and Biden praising Jon Corzine. Hope you'll view it.

I haven't been able to allocate much time to writing for a few days. I did write a piece rebutting a very shallow, newspaper editorial trivializing America's "Broken" status. According to the writer, a one-time college professor, "we're broken" as indicated by stupid gaffs by candidates by Republican primary candidates. Decline in eduction is also a contributor because of the "testing mania" across the country. That's the best thinking and analysis a person with a lifetime career in higher academia can muster??

Reasons are many for our critical national condition and must not be handled trivially. The issue must be dealt with analytically and profoundly. In the meantime I've seen the video of Obama and Biden praising Corzine (in his presence) and find it repulsive. The poor judgement of Obama and Biden is disgusting beyond comprehension!!
However, equally disgusting is the way they are selling Corzine to their audience. They're like hawkers, carnival barkers and worse if that's possible. For two "top" people to represent our America in such a way is incomprehensible. No way do they command respect. No statesmen these two!! However, as I write this a thought that is often on my mind about why our nation is in such critical state surfaces again.

In large part, we are in the state we're in because of us (we the people). We elect as "leaders" people with no qualifications to lead, no proven track record of accomplishments, no character, no statesmanship, radical associates and more. Fact is,  50+% of the electorate who will vote for anyone who pleases them and promises them enough of the nation's bounty. "Traditional America" is all but gone because of this attitude. President Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for me, ask what can I do for my country." It's just the opposite with the 50+% who elect "non-leader," non-statesmen and those who divide rather than unite us. Yes, of course, I'm talking about Obama, but there are many more in leadership positions who don't lead.

Until now, the decline in America has been insidious. The 2008 election gave the transformation enthusiasts hope for a permanent leader to accelerate the transformation of America aggressively into the image they want. Obama is not the leader to solve America's problems, but he is the person most in tune with these people,  counter- and sub-culturalists  who want to destroy "traditional America." And, are doing it!

The 2012 election will decide if the transformation is permanent. A large percentage of the electorate will vote for the "D" without a thought of the consequences to the heart and soul of America. Others will vote for these "consequences," the "new America" they envisage. If the 2008 election is made permanent in 2012, America's heart will still beat, but as another entity. Her soul will be gone. "Traditional America" will be no more.

Their model has failed around the world, but their ideas are all they need, all they respect....results and data be damned.

Another reason the debt ceiling had to be and campaigning 24/7 take a lot of money. Has anyone counted the days Obama has spent governing in 3 years? Oh yes, he governs with his Blackberry always in the quick-draw holster. I forgot it. If you haven't seen his comparison of himself to Presidents Lincoln, Johnson and FDR making himself the "fourth best" president, look it up on Delusional narcissism at its worst.

There's much to write about but have had some problem getting to it...some problems to deal with. Will try to catch up. I'm preparing a piece on "America at the Breaking Point" to, in part, rebut a very weak and meaningless newspaper editorial .... tomorrow. In the meantime, I want to give a few thoughts that always arise when I write about our national condition.

1. The best people among us do not present themselves for elective office, or even for appointed positions. This is now the norm for presidential elections. We are electing mediocre, and even inferior, unqualified people to lead us. And, they don't lead! Voters can look in the mirror and see who's responsible. Obama is the best example of this to-date. McCain was surely not the best among Republicans, but he would have been better for America.

2. Where have all the statesmen gone? There are few, if any, among the older elected officials. Some of the younger ones have it in them to be statesmen, but will they rise in the polluted environment? Over a few decades, we have replaced statesmen such as Richard Russell, Walter George, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Everette Dirksen, Scoop Jackson, Ronald Reagan, even Tip O'Neil, Howard Baker, and more with Pelosi, Reid, Kerry, Biden, Maxine Waters, Waxman, Wasserman-Shultz and now Obama plus more who just don't measure up. I mentioned this to an "independent" relative who named Robert Byrd as the greatest statesman of all times. When challenged he nominated Ted Kennedy. That's what we have come to!!

3. We read opinions that America has gotten to complex to manage. WRONG! The people we elect just aren't up to the job. No leadership or managerial qualities! Obama epitomizes these deficits, yet he has a higher probability of being re-elected than most want to believe. He had no qualifying experience when elected, and he has little now since he isn't leading or managing. The nation is in critical condition and he isn't even treating the symptom, much less the diseases and hasn't been for 3 years. Now, he is simply campaigning for 4 more years. What are his goals? More on the goals later, but for sure it will be more control of all we do. He will attempt to unionize every worker as one. Start with the southern auto workers. Card Check!

4. For those who have managed a few to thousands of people in your life, who among you would hire a person to be CEO of a major enterprise, much less the USA, who never had an accountable job, never led anything but a unionization effort among dependent classes. Who would have hired a person for any job if he refused to let you know his background......sealed all of his records?? You wouldn't even hire a person to mow your lawn if he'd never mowed grass before. What's that say about the wisdom and judgement of voters? And, our former governor, Doug Wilder, was foolish enough to write an op-ed saying that Virginia voters were "discerning" in electing Obama.

5. While the political left self-proclaims "brilliance," it's hogwash. Furthermore, intellect doesn't automatically equate with wisdom and judgement. Our current "leaders" have a deficit of all three.
OK, I'll stop for now and get back to a meaningful report of our being at the breaking part because of these 5 points.

Let's try to understand the Keystone XL pipeline delay imposed by Obama.

It goes like this: We have an oil based economy and will have for decades to some degree forever. Yes, even if we develop alternatives where they are applicable, we will use oil forever.

Our economy is suffering. We have fourteen million people who need jobs! OIL PRODUCTION CREATES JOBS!

The president talks and talks and then talks some more about jobs.....uses huge amounts of tax dollars traipsing around the country allegedly promoting his "jobs bill" that isn't about jobs at all. It's more palaver...more campaign rhetoric to the impressionable people who vote reflexively for him.

The president (a non-leader) promotes so-called green energy as the savior of the country and the ultimate job creator. TWO BIG PROBLEMS: 1) green energy doesn't create jobs as Spain has shown cuts employment, 2) Every person who has managed any significant enterprise knows that the time to "reinvent" ones self, an enterprise, is when the enterprise is booming at it's peak, absolutely not when the enterprise is in stress or in a depression. THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR A PRESIDENT, WHO KNOWS NONE OF THE BASICS OF MANAGEMENT, TO IMPOSE A REINVENTION OF OUR ECONOMIC BASE. It is unmitigated stupidity!!

So, this same misguided president, devoid of understanding and knowledge but high on hype, prejudices and false choices decides to "delay" the XL pipeline to cater to the environmental extremist base EVEN THOUGH 20,000 JOBS ARE IMMEDIATELY CREATED WITH 100,000 MORE TO COME.

In spite of his ineptitude, he is likely to be reelected. Too many voters don't know and too many don't care what they vote for so long as it has a D behind the name.

Can anyone comprehend (believe) that Jon Corzine takes over MF Global, institutes previously taboo trading in extremely high risk sovereign debt, is said to have personally directed the trades, even against advice of colleagues, and now doesn't know that the firm was insolvent and that $1.2 Billion of off-limits client funds are misused and now unaccounted for??? It doesn't pass the smell test and requires suspension of common sense to believe him.

Oh yes....remember he is the person highly praised by Obama and Biden as a "genius on the economy" and was on the short list (of one) to be Treasury Secretary. Now the question!

Was the fraud (yes, that's what it is) known when Geithner was planning to resign by year-end? Is this the reason old Timothy decided to stay "for the benefit of his country?" Just asking. Does anyone have an opinion?

Having played in the Wall Street arena a bit, I was interested when Corzine went into the US Senate. I knew he was a left-winger. So, I asked a friend, who is a retired partner of Goldman Sachs and a former associate of Corzine, just how left-wing he was. Friend said, "Oh, Jon is just an Illinois farm boy who wants to do good." I can only say he didn't prove my friend right either in the senate of as Governor of New Jersey. But, he has done "good" for the left wing while bankrupting New Jersey. And, now the huge firm, MF Global. Jon, you should show us the money.

I can't but wonder how many people know who is running The White House and the whole Executive  Branch while Obama campaigns 24/7/365. Who do you think is in charge? Are you comfortable with Valerie Jarrette? For quite a while I have believed she runs the affairs and recently I am more convinced.

It's OK though because the "president" always has his blackberry with him on his vacations. I wonder how many successful CEOs manage in absentia using only smart phones.

But, 50% of the electorate couldn't care less, it would seem.

I don't know, yet, if Chris Christie is presidential timber. But, compared to most participants, including the current "president" (who isn't), he stands tall. It's refreshing to see a public servant, a politician, with straight forward honesty in dealing with people. One must admire the way he handles hecklers.

It's only a matter of time, and that time will come when he is considered for national position, that the media will try to destroy him. As typically happens, the non-thinking electorate will follow the media lead like lemmings off the cliff  and will buy in to their disparaging attacks. They're coming, as surely as is the fawning over Obama to continue at a feverish level when his 2012 opponent is defined. Of course, Obama is campaigning 24/7 now, with taxpayer funding. Anyone who thinks he's governing must have been living in a cave without communication.

It is what it is! Truth!

Today the Wall Street Journal published an article, "Iran Tries to Gain Sway in Latin America" mentioning the relationships that Ahmadinejad is building in Bolivia, Venezuelza, Nicaragua and Brazil. Not a mention of Hezbollah's base in the "Triple Frontier" of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. I learned of this on 9/11/2001, reported it, and didn't see anything published until 2007.

On August 21, 2011, I wrote of it in rebuttal to a foolish article on immigration by a local writer. My write was rebutted by a community leftist who accused me of stretching fact. It just couldn't be true. It was! It is! At that time, there were 10,000 Google references and today those have grown to 68,000. Even after my seering counter to his foolish assertion and ignoring of the references, he buried a reference to me as a John Bircher in another foolish piece later. I mention this leading to the write below to indicate a huge problem we have with the misguided Progressives of today. I have long enjoyed a good conservative-liberal debate, in the past the essence of politics and governance. No more!
I think you may get some sense of what really is happening south of the border. While Republicans and Democrats think of immigration as a problem of Hispanics coming across the border, the innocent Hispanic looking for a better life is not the problem. Think about it. Politicians don't.

From the Virginia Gazette in Williamsburg, VA
by J. A. Mann
Lew Leadbeater may have reached a new low in his column, “Immigration Paranoia”, The Virginia Gazette, Aug. 14, 2010. He absurdly trivializes the immigration issue and such trivia only solidifies the incredibility of his opinions.

Immigration has become one of the most critical issues for America and can no longer be divorced fromTerrorism. To be

concerned for the huge and growing problems of immigration is not a to be paranoid as Leadbeater asserts. And, no longer is

the immigration issue just about the innocent Hispanic coming here for a better life and a job. Our dysfunctional government

abdicated responsibility to deal with it when immigration was such a relatively “simple” issue. Now the problems are much

more complex and more threatening to America than most admit. The federal government is still dysfunctional. The political

left courts the voter bloc, wants amnesty for all comers, and the far right foolishly thinks only of walls and deportation. Both

are wrong.

Illegal immigration, statutorily a misdemeanor, has become a major criminal issue because of drug and human trafficking. It must be dealt with as such. Now, there is a terrorist component that elevates it to a national security problem. To use Leadbeater's term, it is “embarrassingly shameful,” but worse, for him not to know this. He trivializes gangs! Has he no knowledge of the El Salvadoran Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) or the Mexican Mafia (“M”)? He only has to trek to Northern Virginia to see them.

TERRORISM? Yes! Middle Easterners pay huge amounts of money to Mexican groups to make them over into “Mexicans,” teach them Spanish, acquire US visas for them and they pass through the border gates unmolested. I learned this from people I met while stranded in Mexico during the 9/11/2001 tragedy. Friends in Latin America confirmed it later. I reported it to government agencies immediately. I also learned that HEZBOLLAH has a base in the South American “Triple Frontier,” the tri-border intersection of Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina.. This was finally reported by Telemundo and their parent, NBC News, in May 2007. Hezbollah states openly that their strategy is to attack the USA from this base if “anything happens to Iran.” But, they are not waiting. They are proactive. It's now reported that radicals from this base flow freely through Brazil into Mexico and illegally cross the border into the United States. Their identifying materials are found abandoned at the border. What responsible person can downplay this? Who can doubt their intent?

Over a few years, I researched the immigration issue and in 2008 published a treatise entitled “Immigration and Terrorism --  Beyond Walls.” It included a 24-point proposal for reform and was presented to President Bush. It included proposals to deal with the 12 to 20 million illegals already here. I've neither seen nor heard better.

Six million of those are reported to be here on expired visas! Names are on record, but who, in fact, are they? Where are they, what are their intentions? How many came here disguised as innocent Hispanics. How many have found their way from the South American Triple Frontier to cross the borders of Arizona and other states? Surely, there must be sufficient numbers to infiltrate every significant population area of the USA. What happens next? When?

Irrespective of what the President, Secretary of Homeland Security and others declare, we are at war with terrorists. It's not too much of a stretch to think we will be at war, on the borders at least, with drug cartels that are rapidly taking over Mexico. I'll go so far as to say that any person in position of authority who abdicates his or her responsibility to deal with this issue is participating in the endangerment of every, American and is threatening national security and even sovereignty.
Finally, for anyone, including the president, to brand those who recognize the seriousness of the immigration/terrorism issue as "racists" and those who deal with the problems forthrightly with “racial profiling” is wrong and utterly irresponsible. Moreover, it is equally wrong to compare the current immigration issue to immigrants of the past. Some immigrants are similar, especially the innocent Hispanic (or other) coming for a job and a better life, but many are not. Many undoubtedly are here to do harm. They actually tell us as much.

The fact is, we are in a fight for the heart and soul of the America that we have known and loved, the America that became the greatest nation on earth. Will she maintain her greatness? Not without major changes in policy and a purge of irresponsible policy makers. Radical? Think about it....objectively.

Joe Mann

My dear wife, Carol, suggested that Newt probably knows about the election of 1860 and how the essence of that one relates to that of 2012. She may be correct, usually is, but why is he using it now, not earlier?  Still considering a claim of plagiarism. It's just one more piece of baggage he'll have to carry.

Seriously now, the 2012 election will be the dirtiest, most corrupt and most expensive in history. As Nancy Pelosi has telegraphed, nothing will be off limits. More on this later, but for now, think that those in power now will do whatever necessary to protect their entrenchment in corruption and their goals of "transforming America" into the model they want, a model that has failed before and is failing rampantly in Europe now.

"SOWELL-ATTRIBUTED PIECE ON OWS -- clarification..maybe

Apparently my post on the write attributed incorrectly to Thomas Sowell can use some clarification. I had received the piece earlier, attributed to Sowell, but doubted he was the writer -- not his style and not column length. It wasn't his. It was written by another person as a letter and the Knoxville paper used the wrong by-line. Mistakes do happen. Recently, my wife, Carol wrote an endorsement of her candidate for the VA General Assembly. The letter and attribution were fine.....but the headline was for the wrong candidate, just a legitimate mistake. It was corrected next edition.

This week, I received the Sowell-attributed piece again -- this time from a friend, who fled Cuba during the revolution. He wrote of how the "Sowell" pieced described what he had experienced under Castro and Che during the revolutionary. This friend, who wants to not be attributed for obvious reasons, had come to me during the 2008 election to help my group defeat Obama. The concerns he had then were played out in the recent "Sowell" piece. This person is a very credible professional person who has been in America since 1960, is fiercely loyal to the country and is very concerned about the Obama administration and the direction our nation is going.

Frankly, his observations and experiences lend far more credibility to the piece than anything I, or anyone who hasn't had his experiences, could write. In fact, while I have written a post analyzing the OWS crowd about as the "Sowell" piece does --- anarchists, socialists/Marxists -- my friend's comments are far more meaningful. Hence, my reason for posting and encouraging all to take heed.

An additional note: I have associates in Latin America, as well as Latin Americans here, who report that many in Latin America equate Obama with Castro, Evo Morales, Carrea, Chavez and others of their persuasion. You won't hear this from news sources!!
One more note: I do the blog not just to pass stuff from the internet that anyone can do, rather I try to confirm or provide authenticity, and analyze the situations from my own experience base and my associates in the world, which fortunately have been rather numerous, educational and rewarding. I hope to inform and to be informed. Thanks to all who read. I solicit your comments.

NEWT USED MY QUOTE!! Please get active

WELL, maybe Newt is reading my blog after all. He just made the statement, "the 2012 election will be the most critically important since 1860." Been saying that for couple of years.....said same in 2008...more important now.
I am refining my immigration proposals of 2007-8 to send to the candidates next week. Let's see how they deal with it. It is far more comprehensive than Newt's and any other I've heard or read.
To be effective in political activism always is a long shot, but the only way to be sure of total ineffectiveness is to do nothing.
I encourage everyone who wants to protect traditional American principles and our culture to get active and defeat Obama and his vast cadre of czars and operatives in 2012.

OBAMA, OWS, SOCIALISM/MARXISM, with testimony from one who fled the Cuban Revolution

Immediately below is commentary from a friend that I urge all to read. We met in 2008 as I was organizing activities to defeat presidential candidate Obama. It wasn't that I was enamored by McCain, rather I was very concerned about Obama. As written before, he had nothing to define him as qualified to be president, his associations were troubling and defined him to a large degree and his political leanings were socialist/Marxist. I think I was the first to be quoted on the socialism issue locally in our paper. The friend writing below introduced himself, and his wife, to me as "Americans" with origin in Cuba...."not Cuban-Americans but Americans." They, as others I've written about, were concerned about Obama because he and his associates were so like what they experienced living in the Cuba during the Revolution. It is a poignant story and one that I hope all will take seriously. Of course, media and the print press as well as many others will assert it is radical to think this way. It's absolutely not radical, truth is what it is.
The article that my friend is writing about is below his comments. It has been circulated with attribution to Dr. Thomas Sowell, a writer for whom I have great respect. However, the article was actually published in the Knoxville, TN newspaper where Dr. Sowell writes a column. He was incorrectly attributed as the writer. Irrespective of who wrote it, the message is one to which we should take heed. I thank my friend for his input to this. I was inclined to not write about it, but the friend's story is so poignant, and so real, as to be compelling to present to others. His words are below.
The author (of the article below) is right on target. When the Cuban revolution came into power in 1959, the mobs were empowered to do what the Occupy Wall Street mob has been doing. I remember when the Castro rebels came down from the hills and took possession of my naval base. The first thing they did was to cut the linen into small squares to use as toilet paper. They next would shred blankets so they would burn better (indoors) as mosquito repellents. Soon, they stopped using the toilets and began to defecate and urinate outdoors on the beautiful and well manicured grass that surrounded our buildings. That was how the Castro people destroyed all vestiges of civilized behavior (to replace it with something "new") just as the Obama people have incited class warfare to drive the Occupy Wall Street to behave as they have. At the time, I was a newly commissioned Naval officer and aviator. Needless to say, that coming from the military discipline of my naval training and reinforced by my training with the U.S. Navy, I was completely horrified. It did not take long for me (and many of my squadron's colleagues) to vote with our feet and leave Cuba. The real clincher came when Ernesto "Che" Guevara was named president of the Cuban central bank (a position similar to that of the Chairman of the Federal Reserve) and he has such a disdain for established societal norms that he signed the Cuban paper currency simply as “Che.”      Written by an "American" from Cuba.
Occupy Wall street
The current Occupy Wall Street movement is the best illustration to date of what President Barack Obama's America looks like. It is an America where the lawless, unaccomplished, ignorant and incompetent rule. It is an America where those who have sacrificed nothing pillage and destroy the lives of those who have sacrificed greatly.
It is an America where history is rewritten to honor dictators, murderers and thieves. It is an America where violence, racism, hatred, class warfare and murder are all promoted as acceptable means of overturning the American civil society.
It is an America where humans have been degraded to the level of animals: defecating in public, having sex in public, devoid of basic hygiene. It is an America where the basic tenets of a civil society, including faith, family, a free press and individual rights, have been rejected. It is an America where our founding documents have been shredded and, with them, every person's guaranteed liberties.
It is an America where, ultimately, great suffering will come to the American people, but the rulers like Obama, Michelle Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, liberal college professors, union bosses and other loyal liberal/Communist Party members will live in opulent splendor.
It is the America that Obama and the Democratic Party have created with the willing assistance of the American media, Hollywood , unions, universities, the Communist Party of America, the Black Panthers and numerous anti-American foreign entities.
Barack Obama has brought more destruction upon this country in three years than any other event in the history of our nation, but it is just the beginning of what he and his comrades are capable of.
The Occupy Wall Street movement is just another step in their plan for the annihilation of America .
"Socialism, in general, has a record of failure so blatant that only a phony intellectual could ignore or evade it."

I apologize for the structure of the post below, with no segmentation, but the system refuses to do it my way. To my post yesterday re AMR's chapter 11 filing relating my experiences over many years flying with AA, an AA pilot wrote a thoughtful comment that caused me to think a bit more about the precursors to conditions of their bankruptcy. Frankly, I have what is perhaps too much experience with trade unions and their excesses, but know less about others such as the airlines. After learning more about the negotiations of AA with their unions, I now think it's justifiable to post the comments below. I've seen too many industries destroyed by union excesses coupled with management incompetence in caving to excess demands. Start with coal (dead for many years), steel, textiles, shoes, electronics manufacturing, and more.  The Detroit 3 (once the big 3) deserves special mention. As their costs rose to $72/hour (fully loaded) and costs in the southern industry were 1/3 rd of that, Detroit lost 50% market share and ultimately required a bailout by Obama to protect the UAW voter base. Didn't save the industry as claimed. The industry was functioning in the south and even in the North with Ford.
To AA pilot: With all due respect I feel less apologetic for telling my story of AA and relaying the comment about pilots' and the delayed flights. After learning more about the Chapter 11 filing of AMR and the negotiations with unions that broke down prior to the filing, it seems that the pilots' union gave AMR a deal the could (and had to) refuse. If reports are true, and must be assumed to be, a demand of 10% increase upfront and 7%/year continuing is a non-starter in the market today, and in the economic conditions of the industry. To me, one who has observed unions for many years, this was very misguided and it ignored reality. Surely, the pilot union leadership should have more information from which to make their demands than we laymen have, but this smacks of the same misguided excesses that caused the auto industry to move south to escape the UAW. It must be expected that the airline industry is about to rationalize with one of the bigs going into Chapter 7 --- AMR? That would be a sad event. Sorry, but this is reality. 01 December, 2011

I've been a bit slow this week but have quite a few items to write. Will try to shape up. In the meantime I want to offer a brief commentary on the Iranian attack on the British Embassy (or English Embassy according to Obama sans teleprompter).

The media is either uninformed and are consequently misinforming us, or they don't want to tell the truth. I will opt to believe the latter. When they report that "students are attacking the British Embassy," they are not telling the whole truth. In fact little of it.

Truth is the real attackers are thugs of the regime, the domestic militia, "basij,"  Ahmedenijad's domestic "peace keepers." Some will say, "so what?"  The "so what" to those of us who try to understand analytically how actions in other nations (other regimes) relate to the USA is, "how does this affect us?" Simple linear thinking says, "Iran is attacking an American ally." Yes. True. We must react accordingly.

However, analytical thinking and reflection on our own government, one so different from any is US history, leads one to think of candidate Obama's proposal in 2008 campaigning that we "could have a domestic army larger than the US military." That comment is lodged in my memory bank. Please think carefully before rejecting the idea that such could be a part of America's transformation. Remember Richard Trumka's assurance to Obama. "We are your army and we're ready to fight." Radical thinking? NO, not in today's America. For the first time in my life, I see such action as possible for us. The election of 2012 will decide who and what America will be. Obama is inept, but he does have a plan. Too large a percentage of voters are just inept, and have no plan except to vote their prejudices. What America will be will be up to voters in 2012. I hope and pray they think of consequences.

Today I received a nice letter from the "President -- Aadvantage Loyalty Program," American Airlines' frequent flyer program. On 09/12/2011, some readers will have read my post regarding how an American pilot and a couple of friendly flight attendants I met in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, helped me get an American flight out on the 6th day of being stranded after 9/11/2001.This was the good side of American Airlines and I'm sure there are more good examples. However, there is a bad side that is a "union story" that is worth telling as a part of "the other side of unions (not the hyped romanticized side)" that I've contemplated writing, but have been late in doing so. Frankly, the AA story is a minor one compared to the big union picture, but it's significant, especially at this point in time.

For years, I flew often on American Airlines to Latin America, Europe, and within North America. The service was usually good to excellent, except when there was no service or delays. And, these were more frequent than chance problems would have been expected to cause. The normal excuse was "maintenance problems." More than a few times, in the Dallas hub, I commented to an agent "it surely seemed they had too many maintenance problems." The agent would politely acknowledge my comments but not expound.

One flight, which was a very important one for me, was so announced as delayed for maintenance. I approached an agent and asked, "OK, what is really going on here? If American has so many maintenance problems, maybe we shouldn't fly." The agent looked straight at me and said, "sir, you've been here before, what do you think?" I told him that I suspected crew problems, knowing the activism of their unions." I also said that I expected to eventually see a crew approach the gate entrance and we'd fly in time....if I decided to stay. I said, "you have union problems, right?" He said he'd be fired for agreeing, but he then said, "Yes, pilots. They are probably trying to call in a crew now." Eventually, a crew did arrive.

I flew that flight but switched to Continental for most destinations after that.

You may ask, is this important? No, not as a singular issue, but it is emblematic of one part of the dysfunctional nature of our economy, our businesses today. Most citizens never experience this and won't know what the essence is if they do have the experience.
Moreover, it is illustrative of the foolhardiness of President Obama for catering to unions. Of course, he does so to assure he has the voter bloc, not for the good of America, which is undoubtedly one of his last thoughts. Now you know why I wrote this. If you've read this far, thanks for doing so.

I've hesitated to post this but, frankly, it's a message I would want every American to hear and develop a passion for rejecting those who promote the decline in America. Believe me, America today is not the America that I grew up in and it is changing even more. As a good friend and a loyal American, who fled Casto's Cuba in 1960 for a free life in America, told me a few days ago, "It is already not the same America I came to in 1960." He and his wife know what we are facing, if we do not stop the socialist/Marxist assault on our nation, as do many other friends and associates who started life as they did and have come to me with their concerns. It is no small number from several countries of origin.

Please avoid the impulse to consider these thoughts to be radical. I have been observing, analyzing and studying the social decline since 60's as a college student then a college faculty member. The radical anti-Americanism I saw brewing then is reaching maturity now and doing so rapidly since 2008. Please think seriously about it! And, demand better from those who mislead us and direct the transformation of our great country to what can only be called non-American.
Sorry, but reality is just that.....real.

SOLYNDRA -- E-MAILS, CHU, OBAMA, KAISER -- written Nov. 9 but not posted

From the e-mails among Solyndra people, DOE's Chu, George Kaiser and unidentified (for now) other WH people now being exposed, only Obama sycophants and acolytes would contend he had nothing to do with the absurd $528 million "investment" by DOE in the defunct company. Kaiser, a huge fundraiser for Obama, visited the WH 17 times. E-mails state that Solyndra was discussed every visit, contrary to the White House's (Obama's) contention that only charitable donations were discussed. Sure!!! No sensible person would think anything other than that Obama was involved. So what. Will he pay any price??

No. He will skate from this as he does from all misdeeds, including serial lying to the American people and grossly mismanaging his office. In all of my professional life, I have never witnessed a person in a position of responsibility and authority as unqualified for the job. Only in politics can this happen.....and in this case arguably the most important position in the world.......added Nov. 25: Chu is as unqualified for the job of CEO of such a business as DOE as Obama is for the presidency. The Nobel prized was never issued for managerial competence. For many years it has been only for far-left people in whatever discipline the "prize" is offered. The Nobel Committee and the "Prize" are no longer credible.

Never in my lifetime do I remember an administration so totally devoid of management and leadership acumen across the whole spectrum of governance. Sorry, but it is what it is!!

Chu and other lower level people may resign, and should. But, the odds of Obama remaining for 5 more years are higher than most are willing to believe....more than 50:50. Republicans are reelecting him with their own ineptitude.

Click here: NBC Apologizes to Bachmann for Fallon Song Choice

It took more than a day for NBC and Fallon, who of course were "innocent" in the treatment of Congresswoman Bachmann on Fallon's show. Obviously, they were forced to apologize. Whether one agrees with, supports a person or not, there is no justification for the crude and biased treatment they get from show hosts and the networks themselves. Conservative women are treated the worst. Where are the NOW and NARAL folks and their ilk?

Who thinks Bill Maher is worth watching for even a second? I will highlight more of the rampant media corruption and bias as the 2012 election ramps up. It will be the dirtiest, most dishonest and corrupt campaign in history. I've seen the worst up to now (1995), but 2012 will make my experience pale. Just wait!

It's reported today that Dr. Donald Berwick will resign his position as head of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) before his recess appointment ends. Obama appointed Berwick during congressional recess in 2010 because Berwick would have not been approved by the Senate.

The Tribune News Service reports his early resignation this way: "Berwick, a longtime advocate for patient safety and improving the quality and efficiency of health care, has been widely hailed by doctors, hospital officials and other health care leaders." HHS Secretary Sebelius praised him for his work as "we transform health care delivery system."

"But, Republican lawmakers opposed to the law [health care] passed in 2010 blocked his confirmation in the Senate" (WHERE DEMOCRATS ARE IN THE MAJORITY !!). How disingenuous!! It's pure bias and many, perhaps most, who read it will never know the truth.

There is no mention that Berwick has been an advocate for socialized medicine, has praised the British system as superior, has said that "wealth redistribution" is a necessity of health care. He has also been an advocate for rationing health care and is the principle advocate of COMPETITIVE EVALUATION RESEARCH (CRE), as the method of rationing.

So, how and why does the Tribune News Service miss this??? Some biased reporter wants to mislead and some editors permit it. It's that simple.

Daily, I watch and read extreme bias in the media and print press and am reminded of a relative who has assured me that he has "never seen evidence of bias." That's easily explained. It isn't bias when the report comports with one's personal prejudices (bias). Is it any wonder that we elect "leaders" who don't lead, congresspeople who don't represent us and bankrupt the nation with nonsensical spending and policies that destroy TRADITIONAL AMERICA. Yes, that's what is happening. The heart and soul of traditional America are being stripped out.

The 2012 election will be the most important one since the election of 1860. Yes, I've written this before.......... and will write it again.......and again.

Here is a letter I submitted to the Wall Street Journal yesterday after Doug Schoen and Pat Caddell, two sensible Democrat consultants wrote an op-ed suggesting Obama not run in 2012. I submitted this letter in a bit longer, more detailed form on August 25. I doubt it will publish, although the WSJ has published for me before -- but come to think about it, when they have requested a write, such as piece on Latin America and one on NAFTA most recently. So! This is a bit anemic compared to what I initially submitted.

Adding the WSJ link:

November 21, 2011
To: The editor, Wall Street Journal

Doug Schoen and Pat Caddell have recognized and recommended that President Obama should not run for reelection. On August 25, 2011 I sent the same recommendation to Mr. Obama with a copy to The WSJ. Here is a shortened version.
With less to define him than any presidential candidate in history, voters supported Mr. Obama in 2008 hoping he'd be a leader needed to solve America's problems. Now, hope has vanished. He has practiced class warfare and partisan politics rendering him a most divisive president. He and his advisers have not demonstrated understanding of the economy. “Stimulus” spending has failed, as expected by all but the most ardent adherents to Keynesian theory. Domestic policy has failed!
He has offended America's allies in Europe, especially Britain. His actions toward Israel are unacceptable. He and his advisers are inadequate on foreign policy. If he continues as now, his presidency will be a monumental failure. All Americans will be the victims.
He may leave a positive legacy and by doing the following:
  • Declare he is not a candidate for president in 2012.Focus on solving America's problems to prevent her demise.
  • Remove radical socialist “czars” and advisers. Give indication he is not pursuing radical socialism.
  • Restaff with economic and other advisers who have operating experience and understand problem solving.
  • Cease catering to unions and remove union operatives from agencies – NLRB e.g.
  • Fire the heads of agencies, such as EPA, who either don't understand the damage of their actions or don't care.
  • Begin the process of diminishing the Departments of Education and Energy. Revise the Department of Agriculture.
  • Be a statesman. Stop blaming others for his own failures.
  • Exit Afghanistan now!

If he will not make these changes, resign the Office of President of the United States immediately.

Dr. J. A. Mann, PhD
Williamsburg, VA

I hope readers can access this link from The WSJ today. It counters John Kerry's long winded defense of his side's actions and condemnation of the other side. He has been given a very disproportionate amount of air time by the media (no surprise!).
The report says a lot, but to sum it up, Jeb Hensarling, the Republican co-chair, asserts that Republicans could have support additional taxes but not the blanket $1 trillion demanded by Democrats. He says their proposals were in line with the Simpson-Bowles commission report and its recommendations, which were simply not accepted (not even discussed) by President Obama.
Obama has been AWOL while the committee has been at work. Not only absent in debates on cutting spending, but has been "on the stump" demanding more stimulus spending.....demanding his so-called "jobs bill" be passed usurping Congress and imperialistically abrogating the "separation of powers" in doing so.
Oh yes, he's spending millions of tax funds campaigning under the pretense of taking his bill to the public.

My concern continues that people will be gullible enough to buy into his subterfuge just as they bought in to it in 2008.

There has been no more ardent shill for President Obama than Chris Matthews, MSNBC's talking head who experienced a thrilling tingle up his leg when Obama was elected. He's defended Obama to a degree that, in my opinion, has rendered Matthews incredible.
The assertions in this video link would suggest he finally is trying to be credible, has found a degree of honesty and has decided to tell the truth. I observe it with interest and with hope that the most ardent can see the light, but I won't believe it until I see more of the same and a condemnation of the anti-American stances and the damaging policies. I will hope!!

This came to me from a friend and I am passing it on for your perusal, although many of you know this.
I will take the opportunity to use this as a lead piece for more writes on the incompetence and corruption of congress and the ineptitude of a president who is perennially AWOL when legislation is being debated until decisions are made and he then commands that is position be accepted. This imperialistic attitude is not acceptable and begs an explanation of whether he, as a consummate narcissist, is just not a leader or his strings are being pulled by others. I've been deliberately slow to come to conclusions other than the fact that he is not qualified, not a leader (which I wrote about in 2008) but now one must weigh all information.

Salary of retired US Presidents .............$450,000 FOR LIFE
Salary of House/Senate members ..........$174,000 FOR LIFE

Salary of Speaker of the House .............$223,500 FOR LIFE

Salary of Majority/Minority Leaders .....$193,400

Average salary of a soldier DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN - $38,000
Average income for seniors on SOCIAL SECURITY - $12,000

I think we found where the cuts should be made!

I got some push-back on my commentary about Jon Corzine and MF Global...not much but a bit of disbelief. Below is first some comments by a friend, Mike, who is also a broker handling his own funds. Following that is an announcement by Ann Barnhardt, owner of Barnhardt Capital Management. She is exiting the market that she sees fraught with fraud. It is!!! I ask you to note her characterization of Corzine and the Obama administration.
As I write this, the news is flashing back to Nov. 1 (yes!) and Obama is praising Corzine who has been considered for Treasury Secretary. Then comes VP Joe Biden praising Corzine and his genius about the ecoonomy.
The MF Global case and the government involvement with the principles is but one indication of the fraud in government that the Obama administration has raised to a new "state of the art."
Earlier it was Steven Chu, DOE and Solyndra. A story for tomorrow.

From a Broker/friend, Mike:
The MF Global situation is not understood by 99.99999% of the populace. The explanation in quick fashion:
MF Global had their OWN trading desk, their own funds; i.e., trading for their own account/profit. At the SAME time they operated as a clearing operation for commodity brokerage houses. Client funds should never, but NEVER, come into contact with non-segregated (internal) funds. What happened with the MFG situation is: the CEO, Jon Corzine, meshed both client and firm funds together to try and bail out their failed investments. This is criminal. Now, client funds are totally frozen, WITH POSITIONS IN PLACE!!!!!! These "clients" are going to lose all of their money more than likely. I've never worried about my funds at a brokerage house until a couple years ago when MF Global took over Lind Waldock. My trading account was with Lind Waldock and once MF Global took them over I jumped ship to Global Futures. Why? MF Global had a huge trading desk and my fear of Wall street criminals told me to get out as "anything" might happen.
Now, with Ann Barnhardt totally dropping out of the business raises a bunch of questions. She is thoroughly convinced that she cannot guarantee the safety of her clients funds from being "co-mingled" with non-segregated funds that are beyond her reach. This is a very, very big statement on her part. This calls into question every single brokerage and clearing operation that has a trading desk; this pretty much means every stock or commodity house around. This has nothing to do with the integrity of your broker; this situation is outside of their scope.

"The Entire System Has Been Utterly Destroyed By The MF Global Collapse" - Presenting The First MF Global Casualty

BCM Has Ceased Operations (source)
Posted by Ann Barnhardt - November 17, AD 2011 10:27 AM MST
Dear Clients, Industry Colleagues and Friends of Barnhardt Capital Management,
It is with regret and unflinching moral certainty that I announce that Barnhardt Capital Management has ceased operations. After six years of operating as an independent introducing brokerage, and eight years of employment as a broker before that, I found myself, this morning, for the first time since I was 20 years old, watching the futures and options markets open not as a participant, but as a mere spectator.
The reason for my decision to pull the plug was excruciatingly simple: I could no longer tell my clients that their monies and positions were safe in the futures and options markets – because they are not. And this goes not just for my clients, but for every futures and options account in the United States. The entire system has been utterly destroyed by the MF Global collapse. Given this sad reality, I could not in good conscience take one more step as a commodity broker, soliciting trades that I knew were unsafe or holding funds that I knew to be in jeopardy.
The futures markets are very highly-leveraged and thus require an exceptionally firm base upon which to function. That base was the sacrosanct segregation of customer funds from clearing firm capital, with additional emergency financial backing provided by the exchanges themselves. Up until a few weeks ago, that base existed, and had worked flawlessly. Firms came and went, with some imploding in spectacular fashion. Whenever a firm failure happened, the customer funds were intact and the exchanges would step in to backstop everything and keep customers 100% liquid – even as their clearing firm collapsed and was quickly replaced by another firm within the system.
Everything changed just a few short weeks ago. A firm, led by a crony of the Obama regime, stole all of the non-margined cash held by customers of his firm. Let’s not sugar-coat this or make this crime seem “complex” and “abstract” by drowning ourselves in six-dollar words and uber-technical jargon. Jon Corzine STOLE the customer cash at MF Global. Knowing Jon Corzine, and knowing the abject lawlessness and contempt for humanity of the Marxist Obama regime and its cronies, this is not really a surprise. What was a surprise was the reaction of the exchanges and regulators. Their reaction has been to take a bad situation and make it orders of magnitude worse. Specifically, they froze customers out of their accounts WHILE THE MARKETS CONTINUED TO TRADE, refusing to even allow them to liquidate. This is unfathomable. The risk exposure precedent that has been set is completely intolerable and has destroyed the entire industry paradigm. No informed person can continue to engage these markets, and no moral person can continue to broker or facilitate customer engagement in what is now a massive game of Russian Roulette.
I have learned over the last week that MF Global is almost certainly the mere tip of the iceberg. There is massive industry-wide exposure to European sovereign junk debt. While other firms may not be as heavily leveraged as Corzine had MFG leveraged, and it is now thought that MFG’s leverage may have been in excess of 100:1, they are still suicidally leveraged and will likely stand massive, unmeetable collateral calls in the coming days and weeks as Europe inevitably collapses. I now suspect that the reason the Chicago Mercantile Exchange did not immediately step in to backstop the MFG implosion was because they knew and know that if they backstopped MFG, they would then be expected to backstop all of the other firms in the system when the failures began to cascade – and there simply isn’t that much money in the entire system. In short, the problem is a SYSTEMIC problem, not merely isolated to one firm.
Perhaps the most ominous dynamic that I have yet heard of in regards to this mess is that of the risk of potential CLAWBACK actions. For those who do not know, “claw-back” is the process by which a bankruptcy trustee is legally permitted to re-seize assets that left a bankrupt entity in the time period immediately preceding the entity’s collapse. So, using the MF Global customers as an example, any funds that were withdrawn from MFG accounts in the run-up to the collapse, either because of suspicions the customer may have had about MFG from, say, watching the company’s bond yields rise sharply, or from purely organic day-to-day withdrawals, the bankruptcy trustee COULD initiate action to “claw-back” those funds. As a hedge broker, this makes my blood run cold. Generally, as the markets move in favor of a hedge position and equity builds in a client’s account, that excess equity is sent back to the customer who then uses that equity to offset cash market transactions OR to pay down a revolving line of credit. Even the possibility that a customer could be penalized and additionally raped AGAIN via a claw-back action after already having their customer funds stolen is simply villainous. While there has been no open indication of claw-back actions being initiated by the MF Global trustee, I have been told that it is a possibility.
And so, to the very unpleasant crux of the matter. The futures and options markets are no longer viable. It is my recommendation that ALL customers withdraw from all of the markets as soon as possible so that they have the best chance of protecting themselves and their equity. The system is no longer functioning with integrity and is suicidally risk-laden. The rule of law is non-existent, instead replaced with godless, criminal political cronyism.
Remember, derivatives contracts are NOT NECESSARY in the commodities markets. The cash commodity itself is the underlying reality and is not dependent on the futures or options markets. Many people seem to have gotten that backwards over the past decades. From Abel the animal husbandman up until the year 1964, there were no cattle futures contracts at all, and no options contracts until 1984, and yet the cash cattle markets got along just fine.
Finally, I will not, under any circumstance, consider reforming and re-opening Barnhardt Capital Management, or any other iteration of a brokerage business, until Barack Obama has been removed from office AND the government of the United States has been sufficiently reformed and repopulated so as to engender my total and complete confidence in the government, its adherence to and enforcement of the rule of law, and in its competent and just regulatory oversight of any commodities markets that may reform. So long as the government remains criminal, it would serve no purpose whatsoever to attempt to rebuild the futures industry or my firm, because in a lawless environment, the same thievery and fraud would simply happen again, and the criminals would go unpunished, sheltered by the criminal oligarchy.
To my clients, who literally TO THE MAN agreed with my assessment of the situation, and were relieved to be exiting the markets, and many whom I now suspect stayed in the markets as long as they did only out of personal loyalty to me, I can only say thank you for the honor and pleasure of serving you over these last years, with some of my clients having been with me for over twelve years. I will continue to blog at, which will be subtly re-skinned soon, and will continue my cattle marketing consultation business. I will still be here in the office, answering my phones, with the same phone numbers. Alas, my retirement came a few years earlier than I had anticipated, but there was no possible way to continue given the inevitability of the collapse of the global financial markets, the overthrow of our government, and the resulting collapse in the rule of law.
As for me, I can only echo the words of David:
“This is the Lord’s doing; and it is wonderful in our eyes.”
With Best Regards-
Ann Barnhardt

I saw a poll today that had a match-up of Romney over Obama by 50% to 40%. But, Obama should not worry because it is "probably within statistical error." "If Obama's number is 5% low and Romney's is 5% high," then they are even!! In the media there is a contest of stupid vs. more stupid. It's incredible that we have come to the level of intellect, or lack of it, that I've seen in my adult lifetime.
Then I see a moment or two of The View, and then Allen Colmes or Bob Beckel on Fox News and realize the dumbing down process is continuing........dynamic! Can it be stopped?
Sorry folks, but truth is truth even when it's bitter to swallow.

An episode today in the continuing saga of "Solyndra-DOE-Obama Corruption and Cover-up" would be utterly laughable were it not so serious. Steven Chu assured questioners that a "vigorous debate occurred in considering loan guarantees to Solyndra. That's supposed to say it all to defend fraud and corruption, I suppose.
But, what credibility do "vigorous debaters" have if they are dumber than dirt and as biased as Chu is???
Chu is the person who said the USA needs a gasoline price of at least $7.00/gallon.
Even the media who have the presence(?) to report this nonsense don't seem to have  courage or integrity to break it down and report the real essence of it.
However, worse than this dilemma is the reality that 30% of the electorate will simply buy it because they buy anything left-oriented and another 20% will accept it lazily without critique.
Yes, this is negative, but give me substantial reasoning to rebut it. A large percentage of voters proved they are dumber than river rocks in 2008.

At times I've gotten some push back for saying that it is likely Obama will be reelected if Republicans don't have a better strategy and do a better job of engaging our voters (getting out the vote). Now we must recognize that our candidates are defeating themselves. I'm disgusted with most of them, Cain the latest and not for the claims against him. For the 2nd time he looks as if he knows nothing about the world and foreign policy -- first right of return or repatriation of Palestinians in Israel, now Libya!).
They must get their acts together. Yes to those who say the media is setting them up....but that is not the whole story and they should be prepared to take the issues to the media....not get trapped.
Sorry to be negative, but losing 2012 is not an option and we are trying to hard not to win!!

This is nothing short of fantastic. It was sent to me by our great friends Nancy and Ron Baker in NC. It was sent to them by a highly decorated hospital corpsman and Vietnam veteran, Doc Rather.
I think you'll enjoy this even if you aren't a WVU fan. The tribute to our military is so apropos, especially at this time when we are facing unprecedented and unacceptable cuts in funding and in force levels.
Keep in mind that without our great military the crazed congresspeople and the unqualified president wouldn't have the freedom to have been elected and to be as inept as they are. But, their ineptitude must come to an end, they must get their acts together or America's heart and soul are gone.
Yes, I know this is blunt and negative, but it is also reality.

A simple question to all: What gives Obama, a person who has had no productive job in his life, think he has legitimacy and credibility in criticizing Americans about economic activity of any kind?  Or criticism of any kind in fact?
It must be the same narcissistic trait that makes him believe he can conduct foreign policy based on his personality without realizing he is not well-thought of in most nations of the spite of hype to the contrary.

This interview of economist Milton Friedman by leftist Phil Donahue is one that every American can benefit from -- if you maintain an open mind. It starkly contrasts today's socialist-leaning academic economists whose philosophy dominates government fiscal policy as well as The Fed's monetary policy. Socialistic Keynesian economic policy dominates in spite of it's failure wherever employed.
The USA is following the failed leads of Europe, especially the PIIGS, as fast as the Obama administration and The Fed can drive us.  I fervently hope that enough Americans will understand the critical condition that reckless economic policies are subjecting us to, get active and take action to stop what is happening to America.
Years of reckless spending and structural changes in the economy created a huge national problem. Traditional America is in decline, some seem not to care and some want an America transformed to their socialist model.
The 2008 election brought us to the brink by putting people who haven't the knowledge, leadership skills or proper motivation in control.
The 2012 election can drive us over it into the abyss if good leadership is not elected. The person who can provide that leadership is not yet firmly identified. But, Obama has proven not to be that leader.
Not a single policy or action by the current administration is positive toward protecting us from calamity.

I have tried to analyze the "Occupy Wall Street" (OWS) movement in order to understand who the people really are versus the romanticized version portrayed by the media. What is the true essence of the movement. What's the motivation of the demonstrators. What are their goals. How do they truly compare with Tea Party people?

The media typically characterize the OWS demonstrators in favorable terms as objecting to "Wall Street excesses." They do so even after violence and extremely slovenly and illegal behavior has been clearly shown to be prevalent, even anarchy! Politicians and activists have glorified them. More recently the focus is on police excesses. For sure, there may have been some of this, but it is not the prevailing character of the demonstrations. Congress people, even the president, call them "concerned grass-root citizens exercising their rights." They "understand" the "frustrations" of the OWS demonstrators. Delusional or disingenuous?
It is entirely legitimate, to characterize enough of the OWS demonstrators as ANARCHISTS to characterize the entire movement as ANARCHY. Furthermore, it is no longer OWS, it is now "OCCUPY THE NATION," and it would seem, even the world. It's now compelling to recall Obama's declaration to "change America" mentioned later below.

Tea Party people, on the other hand are spoken of by media and politicians in the most disparaging terms -- barbarians by VP Biden(D), sons of bitches to be "taken out," by AFL-CIO union head, Richard Trumka (D) in the presence of President Obama(D) who didn't object, terrorists by Pelosi(D), Paul Krugman(D), Jeneane Girafolo(D), Margaret Carlson (D), and others of their ilk. In the very beginning, Nancy Pelosi called Tea Partiers "Astroturf," not grassroots at all. Media and others must make special effort to find anything illegitimate or illegal about the Tea Partiers -- a sign by a single person, a statement or two, but nothing bordering on anarchy. Largely peaceful.
It is legitimate, and entirely accurate, to characterize the Tea Party demonstrators as peaceful, law abiding citizens exercising their rights to express dissent against government excesses -- spending, debt, regulations that stifle the economy and job creation. They are people who are demonstrating TO PROTECT TRADITIONAL AMERICA and restore what has been lost.
Tea party people are "TRADITIONAL AMERICANS, the OWS and others of the ilk, are ANARCHISTS.
I get no satisfaction from this assessment. Much to the contrary. It is profoundly saddening to see traditional America so in decline as to anticipate her demise in favor or a nation in the image of those who have disdain for her. Sadly, this includes some of the highest officials in government, their empty commentary to the contrary notwithstanding.
Irrespective of the stated grievances of those few demonstrators who can put 3 words together coherently, this is very reminiscent of the 60s sub- and counter-culture. So, is it not expected that our senior Democrats, people of the 60s movement, and media would support them. These people high jacked the traditional Democratic Party and have converted it into radical Progressivism (aka collectivism). To deny it is to be delusional.
I've long asserted that the 60s radicals are now in control of Congress and have finally achieved their takeover of America -- Pelosi, Reid, late E. Kennedy, Shumer, Dodd, Frank, Dingle, Waxman, Waters, and many more. How did they achieve a takeover? For decades hey couldn't get one of theirs elected since Carter (D) put sand in their gears. Clinton (their greatest hope) rather turned on them as he was forced to do by a Republican Congress. So, they found an attractive well-spoken young modern-day candidate who was actually born into the sub-culture, raised in it, educated in institutions that supported and glorified it, lived it as an adult organizing (unionizing) those who fed at the trough to become acolyte voter blocs, associated with them openly in "church" (Wright) and in social and academic life (Ayers, and many who are now Czars and other operatives. He held the trump card of being black, a "victim" of America's "sin" of slavery, although he had led a life of privilege. The American voter was gullible and non-discerning enough to elect him in spite of the fact that he had no defining qualifications. None!
The Tea Party folks, like them or not, brought focus on the destruction of traditional America (debt, economic decline, fraud, cultural decay, and overall decline of the American way). The destruction is somewhat bipartisan, especially debt, but the result is a crisis "not to be wasted" as Rahm Emmanuel(D) said.
Those who had gained control were not about to let go of their gains. So was born a counter movement, "Occupy Wall Street" that has become, in essence, "Occupy America." Obama's promise to "Change America and then Change the World" is being played out by this movement. Supporters of the movement are the same as Obama's supporters and puppeteers ( the Edgar Bergens to his Charley McCarthy).

The election of 2008 set up the transformation of "traditional America." The 2012 election will decide if the transformation is permanent. Sad, but realistic.
