OBAMA'S REELECTION -- FUNDING -- ADDITION TO SEPT 20 POST

On September 20, 2011 I posted an analysis of Obama's reelection dynamics, including likely funding to the extent of $1 Billion. This proves now to be underestimated. Big mistake! Obama will spend billions of tax dollars in addition. The US Treasury is his piggy bank. His campaign to "sell his 'jobs bill'" is but one example.
His campaigning is already consuming tax dollars and will continue for the next year. But, that isn't the whole story. If he gets the sought after $35 Billion for public employees, this money will go directly to unions who will funnel much of it into his reelection. 
So, we're raising the debt ceiling in part to help Obama fund his campaign. 
As I watched him today, it is clear that he is much more comfortable campaigning than he is governing. Governing portends (should demand) accountability and dissent, campaigning is  all about persuading. Obama is at his best on the "stump." Talking! Unfortunately, a large percentage of voters care nothing at all about substance, they only respond to appearance and are happy to be deceived. Obama is a master of the technique of class warfare and deception.
Former VA Governor Wilder missed the mark (posted here 10/24) when he said VA voters were discerning. They are not, but they have company from voters in 49 other states in voting on emotions and prejudice.

ETHANOL -- The worst mandate ever gets even worse

When politicians get control of science and the inept or dishonest scientists, nothing good comes of it. There are many examples -- global warming (aka climate change) is the most prominent. The ethanol mandate, although a part of the climate change mania, stands on its own as arguably the most ridiculous mandate of all time. President Jimmy Carter, who was influenced by a misguided college professor, can be charged with the mistake of promulgating the ethanol mandate.  Of course, Al Gore is the politician who played the global warming issue like a drum and has benefited financially from it. Use of ethanol in motor fuel is not a net positive either in costs or in impact on the environment.... enormous hype to the contrary notwithstanding.
